Aveda Stylists Dominate NAHA Finalists
Year after year, Aveda artists are represented at the beauty industry’s most prestigious awards—the North American Hairstyling Awards— and bring home awards from multiple categories. 2017 was no exception. 12 of these talented stylists are Aveda artists who were nominated as NAHA finalists. We chatted with these hairdressers, including the four Student of the Year finalists, about their creative inspiration, the challenges they encountered and the lessons they learned on the road to NAHA.

Vivian Yeh, owner of three Josephine’s Day Spas in the Houston area, has always loved makeup and how it can transform her clients’ faces. She has taken many of Aveda’s makeup classes, and recently decided to complete the course for runway makeup. “I had a personal goal to get out of my comfort zone and represent the salon in an artistic way,” Yeh says. “I had already completed Aveda’s makeup foundation classes, so I was eligible to take the runway class with Global Makeup Director Janell Geason.”
